We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the Oral Cancer Awareness and Check-up Camp held in Bandra on 16th February 2025. Dr. Akansha Kandoi, a renowned expert in the field, led the screening and consultation sessions. The camp aimed at raising awareness about oral cancer and promoting the importance of early detection through regular screenings. Key Highlights of the Camp: • 28 Patients Screened: A total of 28 individuals were screened during the camp. The screening focused on detecting early signs of oral cancer, which can often go unnoticed in its early stages. • Early Detection: Among the 28 patients, one individual was diagnosed with oral cancer. This highlights the importance of regular screenings and early detection, as it can significantly increase the chances of successful treatment and recovery. • Free Treatment Support: The patient diagnosed with oral cancer will receive free treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital, one of India’s leading cancer treatment centers. The hospital has generously offered to operate on the patient at no cost, ensuring they receive the necessary care without financial barriers. Raising Awareness: • The camp not only provided screenings but also focused on educating the community about the risks of oral cancer, its symptoms, and preventive measures. The importance of avoiding tobacco, alcohol, and other risk factors, as well as maintaining good oral hygiene, was emphasized throughout the event. • Participants also received detailed information on how regular check-ups and self-examination can help in early detection of oral cancer, which is crucial for better prognosis and treatment outcomes. A Word of Thanks: We extend our gratitude to Dr. Akansha Kandoi for her expertise and dedication, as well as to Tata Memorial Hospital for their unwavering support in providing free treatment for the patient. A special thanks to all the participants who took the initiative to get screened and learn more about oral cancer. Your proactive participation is an essential step toward building a cancer-aware community. Future Camps: We hope to continue offering similar camps in the future to provide more opportunities for individuals to be screened, educated, and empowered to take control of their health.
